Our Building Project

Expanding the sport in Rabun County…

Our club, with over 200+ members, is launching a capital campaign to address the need for outdoor public courts for our community. Counties across Georgia either have outdoor courts, or they are in the process of building them. This building project is a public/private partnership between the Rabun Pickleball Club, a major sponsor, and the county. Not the taxpayer.

How did this project get started?
In 2022, our court designer submitted a 10-court recreational and tournament complex to the Rabun County Board of Commissioners. Today, they have approved a vacant site on the beautiful grounds of the county’s 125-acre sports complex. This site is ideal for a pickleball complex in every way, and it dovetails with the Recreation Department’s future projects that includes football and soccer complexes.

Our fundraising efforts are off to a great start!
Through a generous member’s contribution, and with funds generated through memberships and donations, we will start the project in April. However, we need community support to reach our goal of completing the courts, lights, and pavilion. We hope you will partner with us. Learn more…

    LEARN ABOUT SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
A few folks from the community wanted to give pickleball a try when no one knew the rules.  I taped off some courts in the gym, and a group of us played.  We never would have imagined that the courts would later fill up all three gyms, that we would host tournaments, or that we would become state champions.  Who knew that pickleball would become a world-wide sport?
We need more courts!

I’ve played pickleball all over the southeast and the Rabun Pickleball group is one of my all-time favorites. They have been so welcoming and open to players of all skill levels. The facilities are fantastic and just in general, the people are amazing. I highly recommend Rabun County Pickleball to anyone.

I’m excited about the official announcement to build 10 dedicated pickleball courts in Rabun County.  Playing on outdoor courts gives the local community the oppor- tunity to experience the game in its purest form.
This new facility will open the door to fantastic tournaments and future exhibitions. We are excited to bring our signature camps back to Raburn in 2025.
